I explored the concept of analyzing physical touch through thermal imaging to highlight the lingering effects of trauma. My work depicts a woman who has experienced sexual assault. While the physical marks may fade with time, the emotional and psychological impact remains deeply embedded within her.
This piece takes on added urgency in light of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, stripping away federal protections for abortion—even in cases of rape. Regardless of one’s political beliefs, I believe it is essential for every individual to have the right to make decisions about their own body. Autonomy is not a privilege—it is a fundamental human right.
